To the Moon!
Using a dynamic multimedia presentation, author and illustrator Richard Hilliard takes the audience on a journey through the history of manned spaceflight. Using images and text selections from his books, including "Ham the Astrochimp" and "Neil, Buzz, and Mike Go to the Moon," young readers will be able to experience the excitement and danger of America's early space missions.
Reading books, building scale models, watching films and delving into comics shaped Rich's career as an author and illustrator of four non-fiction children’s books: Neil, Buzz and Mike Go to the Moon; Godspeed, John Glenn; Ham, the Atrochimp; and Lucky 13: Survival in Space. A faculty member at James Madison in Virginia, Rich teaches graphic design, illustration and typography.
